Celebration - Fiesta, 2010-01-20
My husband bought the 2001 Classical Brit Awards compilation CD of best selling classical favourites and Andre Rieu's lovely Carmen overture taken from this 'Celebration' CD was one item which I always specially enjoyed. (This CD is still available - the Ave Maria by Filipa Giordano sung in modern 'popstar' style is very unusual and gorgeous not to mention the delights of Renee Fleming and Yo Yo Ma). I bought 'Celebration' as a gift but enjoyed it so much when played by the recipient I bought my own copy. A lovely mix of light classical and popular favourites. 'Celebration' is also issued as 'Fiesta'.

If you like this CD you might also like the sensational 3 CD compilation 'Andre Rieu Eine Musikalische Traumereise' (an absolute bargain) which I have also reviewed. The beautiful packaging would make it very suitable for Mother's Day. To be found on Amazon.

King of the Waltz by Royal Command, 2009-12-08
This is a splendid collection of cheery Waltz favourites with the odd Polka and March making a well thought out programme. The sound quality is excellent. It is ideal for playing on festive occasions or as a special gift now that Andre Rieu and his orchestra is appearing by Royal Command on the Royal Variety Show 2009 and is sure to capture even more fans. I was delighted to have the romantic Vilja Song and the charm of Village swallows with it's tinkling bells among other delights on this CD. Waltzing with Andre, 2009-12-24
Andre Rieu had yet to visit Australia when I first watched his 'New Year's Eve in Vienna' concert and very few people had heard of him. I was absolutely overwhelmed by the joy his music gave me. Although I liked classical music Andre brought it to life enabling me enjoy this music even more. I enjoyed this concert so much that I had to buy this DVD from the US as Andre wasn't sold here at the time.
'Live in Vienna' is a recent Andre release and when you realise that a raised floor was built over the square you understand the perfectionism that Andre and his team aspire to and achieve. As always there is something for everyone. When the camera scans the side streets you can see people standing there like sardines. To be prepared to do that Andre must have something.
I am disappointed that the previous reviewer only gave this product 1 star. However, when Andre's DVD's and CD's started to be made in Australia we found that the US had used different titles than those used by Andre. For example,'Waltzeraum' is known as 'Love around the World' & others, 'Tuscany' is actually 'Romantic Paradise', 'Homecoming' is 'Songs from my Heart' etc. When buying products imported from the US you have to careful. (Checking the cover or more particularly the tracks is a must.) I own over 30 DVD's and despite the different names I have yet to buy two of the same. If you want to see what an ordinary concert is like as well as his more relaxed New Years Eve concerts then this is a great buy.
Another great New Year's concert is ANDRE RIEU - GALA CONCERT. Much of it is his encore which is really relaxed and great fun.

Companion to the beautiful DVD 'Dreaming', this CD has a delightful programme including 'Air' by Andre and Philipe Rieu, Bach's Air on a G string, 'The Gadfly' and Salut d'Amor. As Andre says, "Music is a marvellous thing, it lets us escape our day to day existence and spend some time in another world." Just right softly playing for a quiet afternoon by the fire 'letting go' or when contemplating the garden in the evening.
