Backstreets Back Again, 2010-05-21 As a huge Backstreet Boy fan now for at least 15 years (since the beginning), i cannot help but love the new album. Minus Kevin they are still as strong as ever with their vocals and on songs like "Straight through my heart" and "This is Us" they are still writing and producing fantastic songs. Admittedly it could never be as good as back in the day when they first came out releasing hits like "As long as you love me" and their only UK Number 1 "I Want It That Way" but as far as im concerned they are still going strong and i hope they carry on releasing albums like this. As they said before "as long as they'll be music we'll be coming back again" so lets hope they do!!!
I would recommend this ablum to anyone who has a love for the good old 90's Boyband! :-)

Brilliant album, 2008-06-08 Well, if you like the Backstreet Boys you won't be disappointed with this album. Kevin is missing but there are still 4 great voices here. We've watched them all grow and Nick's matured along with his voice. As with most groups the sound has matured with them, and grown more sophisticated, although as far as I'm concerned A.J.'s voice couldn't get much better, it's like velvet!
There are some great lyrics on this, e.g. track no 6, Any other way: "there you go, caught you crashing my dreams again, just when I'm tryin to get over you", "a world without you is only wasted space"- and the boys themselves had a hand in writing some of them. There is a nice variety of tracks aswell, which is what you expect of them. There are several potential number 1s here and you have to wonder who picks which tracks are to be released as singles, as I don't think that "Helpless when she smiles" is the best. As with every single album I buy, there are some tracks that just jump out at you, and you hit the repeat button, those are the potentials. There is a beautiful, touching, wistful track here called "Unmistakable" about whether you will be able to tell when the right one comes along. Again some lovely lyrics: "what if you're here and I'm just blind". I'm not a big fan of Howie's voice but he really adds depth to some of the tracks on every album and this one in particular, especially in "Unmistakable". My only complaint about this album is that it comes in card packaging, as opposed to a hard case, and there are no lyrics included. The deluxe edition includes a small poster, but for my money I would have preferred a solid case, to avoid scratching the cd every time it is taken out. There is, so far only one negative review up here so I think that speaks for itself!

For their hard-core under-18 fans, of course, the Backstreet Boys are all that, and a bag of chips and free soda to boot. Millennium, the follow-up to the quintet's umpteen-million-selling debut, offers more reasons why so many of the rest of us have found a place for them in our hearts. The Boys' ultrapackaged look and up-to-date production underscore the quality of their best tracks; only a churl could deny that "I Want It That Way" is one fine radio-aimed declaration of love, or that "Larger Than Life" makes the most of its Daft Punk sample and double-edged acknowledgment of Backstreet followers' loyalty. And who can resist an album-closer like "The Perfect Fan," Brian Littrell's ode to his mom? --Rickey Wright
I want it that way!!, 2010-05-21 Their biggest album to date and the album which has their only ever UK no1 on it "I want it that way". This is a fantastic album with hits like "the one", "show me the meaning of being lonely" and "larger than life" on it. My personal favourite is "dont want you back" as it is again another catchy song on this album. I also went ot see them on tour when this was released and was amazed by their live performance of each song and the crowds appreciation of the hits!! If you ever wonder which BSB album to buy then this one is the best (but i obviously have them all lol)!!

Greatest Hits Chapter One carves an unusual career path for those wholesome Backstreet Boys. Although all five members are from the USA, they had their first hit singles, "We've Got It Goin On" and "I'll Never Break Your Heart", in Europe. The story unfolds further as their singles marched with regularity into various Top Tens around the world at the end of the 1990s--as they "broke through" and won a string of prestigious awards. Chapter One begins with the somewhat childlike "We've Got It Goin On" and continues through all the greats such as "Larger Than Life", "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and the new song "Drowning". --Ulf Behlen

Any obsessive Backstreet fan, please look away now--the following statement might make you cry. The BBs are different from the clutch of boy bands from both side of the Atlantic (from New Kids to Boyzone) because none of them are actually that good looking. AAARGH! Don't kill the messenger, this is meant nicely. It took four years for them to find worldwide success (better-lookers would have done it quicker, but better-lookers wouldn't be so talented), but from 1995-99 the five boys (AJ, Howie, Nick, Kevin and Brian) slogged their guts out, singing their harmonies and winning loyal support. This album, their second in Europe, came just as they were established here, and were getting started with their old material in their native USA. The opening three tracks, all killers, prove their pop mettle: the howlingly dirty "Backstreet's Back", "As Long As You Love Me" and "All I Have To Give". Wierdest track, and strangely satisfying with it, is their harmony-fest take on PM Dawn's "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss", a frat-boy serenade to all us eternal teens everywhere. --Charlie Porter
Oh my god we're back again!!, 2010-05-21 Personally this is my favourite album of them all! This was when i became slightly obsessed with the boys. The release of "Everybody (backstreets back)" was huge in the UK but only hitting the number 3 spot was quite a shocker!! Nevertheless it is still a classic that everyone loves to dance to and yes i am sad enough to know the actual dance moves to this one lol! My favourite song on this album and of all time is "as long as you love me"!! Those first few seconds of the song still gives me butterflies in my tummy 12 years on and this song was again only a number 2 hit!! This was also the first time i went to see BSB when this was released so getting to hear them sing all my favourites live was amazing and starting the show with "thats the way i like it" went down a treat!
A true BSB fan should have this in your collection if you dont....... then you really cannot be a true fan as this was the start of huge things for them!!

BACKSTREE'S BACK?? THEY WER NEVER GONE!!, 2008-05-20
5.0 out of 5 stars Making history, 2 Jun 2005
Ok lets cut to the chase. This album is AWESOME. For people that are already BSB fans: This album shows a side of the boys that has yet to be uncovered until now. They are all much more mature and you can hear that in the music. Not only is everything much more relaxed (nick doesn't sound like he's on the verge of popping neck veins) but the songs are much more grown up and on a level that even grown ups can apprecite (no more teeny boppin' to *lets have a party*). They haven't ditched their trade mark backstreet style, it's still there but is perfectly accompanied by an alternative feel (bsb meets lifehouse/matchbox twenty).
For new listeners: It's a mix of pop/rock ballads (think savage garden) and funky upbeat, alternative tracks (i.e. Rooster/Incubus) with a dash of R&B and a bit of a jazz influence to make it a *different* album.
My opinion? I was quite dissapointed when they went away and came back with Black & Blue because it was SO different that it was hard to get accustomed to... in fact I only really started liking it about a year ago. But this album is something you can't NOT like. If you're looking for pure pop i.e. As long as you love me/backstreet's back, then you might be a bit dissapointed, they've gone in a new direction. But if you're open to it then you'll love it.
Songs to look out for:
Rockn': My beautiful woman, Just want you to know, Poster Girl
Swooners: Lose it all, Never Gone, Crawling back to you, Incomplete
The rest are very good too but those are my favourites.
NB: Don't listen to anyone if they say it's rubbish because I almost broke down in tears when my boyfriend told me he had downloaded it and that it was really awful and then I listened to it myself and was gob smacked at how good it was.
ENJOY!

the best, 2000-05-08 this is my favourite of all three albums with millennium as a close second. I love this one cos they all sound really young and it was the first tracks of theirs I heard way back in 1996 when I bought it. I also like it cos it features a lot more of Kevin's gorgeously deep voice!

Backstreet Boys' previous outing Millennium was a tough act to follow, combining as it did the storming pop of "Larger Than Life" and the sublime balladry of "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely". Black & Blue is a worthy successor, if a slightly more mature sound for the boys. There is plenty of up-tempo pop, such as the catchy advice dished out on "Get Another Boyfriend", and the slinky beat-riddled R&B of "Shining Star", nicely balanced with some smooth ballads--you can almost hear the lighters sparking up as the Spanish guitar gently plucks away on "I Promise You (With Everything I Am)". However, it's when they take up immediately where "Millennium" left off that they are at their strongest--"The Answer To Our Life" and "Not For Me" form a sturdy bridge from their previous output, onwards to the future. If this is the state of things to come, the future is decidedly rosy for AJ, Nick, Brian, Kevin and Howie. --Helen Marquis
