Average rating of 5/5 Darkest and heaviest of them all, 2009-09-30
This one makes it for me. Never have they sounded angrier, darker, scarrier... this album is a tour de force with a guitarstorm called Into the lungs of of hell opening the attack. If I had to choose one metal-album, it would be this one. Second would be Master of reality by Black Sabbath.

Average rating of 5/5 My Favourite Megadeth Album, 2010-02-10
I bought this album after having bought Megadeth's greatest hits and loving almost every track on it. My favourite track is 'Train of Consequence'. However, I don't dislike any song on the album

It isn't the most heaviest Megadeth album ever, but it is one of the most memorable.
Megadeth creates memorable songs with hard hitting lyrics and spectacular guitars.
I can't stress enough just how awesome each track is!

Average rating of 5/5 Mighty amazing thrash return from legends!, 2009-07-01
here Mustaine and new band have found their thrashy mojo and finally brought back really juicy proper old school metal big riffin' tunes to be mightily proud of. It is all back like their best work- amazing guitar solos, riffs, hooks, intelligent thoughtful and thought provoking lyrics. Really great thrash metal from the masters. Rejoice!

Average rating of 5/5 Amazing hugereturn to thrashing roots gloriously!, 2009-07-01
Wow, who though that Megadeth could ever properly return to the amazing heights of albums such as peace sells..., or Rust in Peace? Here they are with a collection of really strong, magnificent classic thrash metal beauties to amaze. The whole album jus tcame and flawed me right away. It truly is spectacular and righteously heavy, with jaw dropping guitar work from Mustaine who nearly lost the ability to ever play guitar again recently. They are back to claim their thrash crown. Glory be, amen.

Average rating of 5/5 easy to digest than Warchest, 2008-10-07
Whilst Warchest was like a mcdonalds hamburger that required more than enough people to finish it whole the dave mustaine approved Set The World Afire megadeth anthology is packed to the hilt with hit after hit thrashing hit especially their finest hour on disc one that charts their birth from the beginning onto their near distentagration via disc 2 as the first has tracks like Mechanix, Rattlehead, an evil cover of the Sex Pistols Anarchy In the UK (USA Dave Mustaine sings) whilst being backed up with impressive company from tracks like Devils Island, Wake Up Dead and of course the finger shredding Holy Wars... Punishment Due.

Disc 2 is a b-sides affair which does not dissappoint since despite the lean period with albums like cryptic Writings etc and a few soundtrack songs thrown in that made an appearence in dodgy horror and comedy flicks Trust, Prince of darkness, Kill The King, Breakpoint, Go To Hell still hit the lights in terms of Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedmans riffs melting everything in its way backed up by Menzas drumming and Dave Ellefsons thundering Bass lines which just about held everything and nearly give Megadeth the moment to beat Metallica at their own game only to be stopped in its tracks by internal problems, drugs and different directions in music.

Overall a superb best of since Dave is giving us this till he finishes Megadeths new album which of course production is seen to by no other than Sabbat Guitarist Andy Sneap.

Average rating of 5/5 Absolute Classic., 2010-08-13
People like to compare Megadeth to Metallica, but what people forget, is that Megadeth made Rust in Peace and Metallica didn't. But enough with that.

This is an excellent, excellent album. The album from start to finish never slows down. It starts with the blistering Holy Wars, which has one of the greatest intro's ever recorded on a Metal album. After that it goes on to the menacing classic Hangar 18. There is really no need to go through these songs. Because they are all pretty much in the same mood and paste. But that's the beauty of it really.

But I see some people complaining about the remastered version. I have not heard it, since I have the original version, so can't really give my views on that.

Average rating of 5/5 Megadeth Greatest hits,a definate buy !!!, 2008-06-30
I have just purchased megadeths greatest hits from amazon and what a collection of total masterpieces they are.
I have listened to megadeth for about fifteen or so years and have heard every song over and over but despite that this collection is proof that theyre music stands the test of time.
Most of the songs have been remastered and the clarity and punch of every beat hits you in the face when turned up.
The best thing about this compilation is that every song one after the other are good and work well until the end, not like some comps you get when half the songs tend to be skipped, you can leave it to play and its cool. so from a total fan from me to you" BUY BUY BUY IT "
