This was the third addition to my slowly growing vinyl collection. For me, this song is simply amazing and it has been my favourite song ever since I first heard it. A very nice surprise for me is that the vinyl is a picture disk (yes I had to look that up), which means that the album artwork and track listing are actually printed on the vinyl! Oh how I found this exciting :D
One more thing, the B side "Crying Shame" also happens to be, by coincidence, my all time favourite B side. Overall, I think this vinyl is perfect. The only two reasons I can think for somebody not to buy it is if 1) they don't have a record player, or 2) they have an irrational hate for Muse.

It's not really about the music anymore, is it. It's about the breadth and height of everything Muse do. It's about leaving a jet-stream in the sky. Any tune with a trajectory lower than the cosmos is presumably discarded, with arrangements generally sounding as expensive as battleships (intergalactic battleships, that is). Of course the music is not exactly incidental either; Muse's full-on fifth album The Resistance is packed hard with virtuoso musicianship, rigorous instrumental freak-outs and harmonies beamed between dimensions. It's simply what they do now, no matter how ridiculous it may seem. Long gone are the days of the feisty yet formal English post-grunge band with a falsetto bolt-on. So let the madness commence; "Uprising" gives the Dr Who theme tune a stomping glam makeover, "Undisclosed Desires" is like a prog-rock Justin Timberlake, "Guiding Light" is the sound of Elvis' "Can't Help Falling In Love" being jettisoned into the ether in an escape pod and "Exogenesis Symphony Part 1 (Overture)" is ambitious equal parts 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Flaming Lips and a belting Brian May style guitar solo sent straight from the roof of Buckingham Palace. They...

This CD is very good with lots of good 'catchy' tunes. This music is one I will play often and enjoy.

Average rating of 5/5 Dead Star/In Your World, 2009-11-15
Dead Star/In Your World couldn't be more amazing. What more could you ask for from a single? The opening track: Dead Star features a heavy guitar riff which is enough to blow anybody away, with a powerful chorus that will send a chill down your spine. Track two: In Your World opens with a simple piano piece, which then erupts into a heavily distorted guitar riff. Similarly to Dead Star, this is a must-listen. Futurism features a Hysteria like bass line, and scratchy guitar which makes you wonder why so few artists in the modern day incooperate the adventurous style of Muse. The final track is a cover of Andy William's 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' which is a song which nobody can resist. The cover incooperates Muse's own signature sound during various parts.

In conclusion, the Dead Star/In Your World EP is a worthy buy, which would be a worthy addition to anybody's music collection.

Black Holes and Revelations finds Muse finally achieving their full potential, producing an album that is their biggest yet. And for a band that was responsible for the grandiose Origin of the Symmetry, that's no mean feat. In a time when lo-fi and acoustic acts are devouring the charts, Muse are resolutely swimming against the tide. Black Holes and Revelations is an epic album, and it sounds huge--listening to it, it's difficult to remember that Muse are just a trio. This is a band who enter a studio determined to get their money's worth--it wouldn't be a surprise to hear a kitchen sink clanging away in the background. In the hands of a lesser band, Black Holes and Revelations would sound either ironic or silly, with songs like "Starlight" sounding like a beefed-up ELO track, right down to its lyrics about spaceships. And that's not the only 1970's British rock band that's referenced here: by the end of "Soldier's Poem", you'll swear that Freddie Mercury and Queen are providing the harmonies. And the influence of Queen sticks around right through the energetic rocker "Assassin". Black Holes and Revelations wears the comparison well--this is an ar...

I've only come to know Muse of late. Don't know how I missed them. I am totally obsessed. I have 3 CD's in my car and when the changer goes on to somethiong else I last about 4 minutes and then I move it on to the next Muse CD. They hit a spot deep within me.

Average rating of 5/5 Bliss, need i say more?, 2001-12-27
This song truly does live up to its name as its is one of if not the best songs I've ever heard, I cannot Comprehend why this song wasn't A big hit. I think if it was in an advert or a film etc it would be a big hit. When I first heard it I was convinced it would be up there with songs like "Stairway to heaven" "yesterday" and "Imagine" its a truly wonderful piece of modern music, obviously (because of the lyrics and the emotion in the voice of the singer) written by somebody who has been in love before. Both the lyrics and bye the fantastic melody at the beginning and end, This song reminds me of a time when I was in love, its that good both lyrically and musically.

Average rating of 5/5 The meanest song to be played on a third date., 2001-12-08
Well, this song is obviously fantastic. It's by Muse after all. The chorus is nice and mean, but I think it's pretty funny. They have the amazing ability to shock me when I least expect it. The fairly normal chorus of 'I don't want you and I never will' made me laugh, but as it approached the end, he came out with 'I don't love you and I never will', this shouldn't matter, but it makes me feel like there's more to the song than I at first thought, and it seems truly cruel. Excellent bass, catchy riff, pounding drums and stabbing vocals. Shouldn't be missed by anyone.

Average rating of 2/5 Con, 2007-01-03
This is very disapppointing. When this was advertised it contained no information as to content, but it was issued as new. Therefore, you assumed it was not something offered before. However, judging on content, the DVD is exactly the same material as Manic Depressive which is advertised under DVDs. The set consists of one audio cd containing a collection of radio interviews, only one of which is recent being just before the issue of Black Holes and Revelations. The DVD is I think exactly the same as the Manic Depressive dvd stopping at the Absolution tour. There is no music. The dvd consists of interviews with music journalists, a producer and an ex guitar techician who was only with them in the early days. If you know the albums, and have read the music press there is nothing new here. The only thing slightly amusing is Matt's occasional faux paux during one radio interview and one short tv interview clip.

This is an excellent album - enhancing the previous sound of Faith And The Muse with the addition of Japanese drumming. "Battle Hymn" is possibly the standout track, but it's all good.
