A brilliant Jackson 5 album!!!!, 2010-08-04
Well what can I say about this cd I have only owned it a day and I love it already, as the first reviewer says it is a definite must for all fans of MJ/Jackson 5.
Both of these cd's contain loads of Jackson 5 hits performed live back in the 70's, I don't feel there is a lot else to say as the 1st reviewer has said it all really. Just if you love MJ, you will really enjoy this cd set.

Oh how I love this cd! Just to have Michael's voice sweetly singing these Chrismas ditties is an absolute pleasure especially as he loved Christmas. It is so heartwarming to hear him singing back in the day when, apart from working his socks off and not really having a proper childhood, he was carefree and had all his life ahead of him! This is a must for any MJ fan and anyone who loves Christmas!

It's hard to think of a more quintessential pre-disco-era super group, and this really is the ultimate collection of the Jackson 5's finest. From the super-sweet "I'll Be There" (which went on to become one of the most-covered songs in recent history) to the peppy pop of "I Want You Back", the period's essence is in every single high note. The Afros, the bell-bottoms, Michael's pre-identity crisis, it's all there and so much more fun than anything any of the clan has done since. This is a great party album: classics like "ABC", "Never Can Say Goodbye", and "Rockin' Robin" sit alongside more jazz-influenced tracks like a cover of the Isleys' "It's Your Thing", and are guaranteed to keep all feet on the dance floor. --Rebecca Wallwork

I absolutely love this album even my 2 year old loves "ABC" we play it every morning on our way to nursery. This should be in every serious MJ fan collection. Just buy it!!!!!

The dynamic range on this album is fantastic! I have 4 other MJ/J5 compilations: "The Best of Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5ive", "Soulsation!", "Jackson 5 the Ultimate Collection" and "Michael Jackson Anthology" and this CD beats them all. I compared the dynamic range using the TT-DR meter, and this CD wins out on every track (with the exception of one track: "I'll Be There"). Highly recommended!

Michael's cross over album from child star to musical legend!, 2010-04-04
What a stunning album, and I can't believe I haven't heard it before; I have, of course, heard the best songs from the album on various compliations, but it's really interesting to hear the whole thing in context. I suppose my first reaction was that it was primarily a Michael Jackson album with back-up singers; whenever one of the other brothers took over the lead vocals, you were waiting for Michael to jump back in and take over! You can hear occasionally that the songwritings were trying to go back to the past, but most of all it is a disco-funk album moving from the Sixties to the Seventies with accomplished ease.
