Sade
With her exotic beauty and steamy voice, Sade couldn't help but be a star. Taking the more sensuous elements of island beats, smooth jazz, and R&B, Sade scored major hits with the continental feel of "Smooth Operator" and the sultry stylisation of "Your Love Is King". Her voice was often criticised for being thin, yet she made it work to her advantage with songs like the haunting "Jezebel", on which her delivery added the vulnerability necessary to the song. Sade sounded best when she stuck to the lower register, and there is nothing thin about her dynamic handling of her torch song "Is It a Crime". "The Sweetest Taboo" was one of her last great moments before years of mediocrity, chronicled here by the lifeless "Stronger Than Pride" and the limp "Nothing Can Come Between Us". "No Ordinary Love" was a return to form with the smoky richness back in her vocals and the urban/island feel of her first release. Best of Sade goes right up to her hit "Pearls," which, remixed, became a dance-floor hit. The nicest surprise here is "Please Send Me Someone to Love," with Sade proving that although her range may be limited vocally, she doesn't suffer the same fate artistically. --Stev...
Simply brilliant!, 2010-03-09 Simply brilliant!
I was a Sade fan way back in the day, and one day decided to have a clear out of my old CDs, Sade included.
I heard the new single on the radio recently, and looked everywhere for my old Sade CDs, then I remembered I had foolishly got rid of them.
So I bought this CD, and from the first note was mesmerised.
This really is the very best of Sade, I play it all the time.
Buy it! It is simply brilliant!

Hollies
mr cooper is not a hollies fan, 2010-01-27 well mr fredric a cooper, if you are a true fan you would know all of the hollies material is ledgendary, the band has moved with the times unlike you, they are not a tribute band as they have 2 original members the new members do a fantastic job in re creating a special hollies sound,i have seen the new version of the hollies with my 2 girls who are 9 and 12, 14 concerts in the last 3 years, they enjoy the sounds as much as i do. peter howarth does a fantastic job as lead singer , the guitars sound are as near to the sixties sound as much as tecnology will allow, the keyboards do the same, they have no fancy gimmics most artists use on stage its just back to basics, just like the sixties, the album is good news for fans as there is so many tracks, so its value for money, we will be seeing all the band again in liverpool with my youngest daughter once again taking them all an easter egg, so we will see you then ,grahame frodsham and barbara ,christina and olivia hunt. uk.

Simon & Garfunkel
Simon & Garfunkel have two three-CD box sets collecting their entire career output, one with out-takes and live recordings, but the duo who were among the bestselling acts of the 1960s only recorded five studio albums throughout the entire 1960s! Their studio perfectionism is never better served than here. This greatest hits is simple and to the point, a perfect collection for anyone looking to get the basic idea (and hits) without committing to a more serious relationship. The harmonies, Paul Simon's masterful songwriting, Garfunkel's soaring choirboy voice, are all here. --Rob O'Connor
Excellent, 2009-12-15 Never seemed to get around to buying their LP's but having the CD is great. Great quality.

Electric Light Orchestra
The Electric Light Orchestra were one of the biggest and most successful bands of the late 1970s, producing a massive string of hit singles and albums that almost any other band would envy. Their works have been cited as influences by such hip acts as Grandaddy and Super Furry Animals. Their frontman and leader Jeff Lynne has been the producer of choice for people like Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and George Harrison. From "Evil Woman", "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Mr Blue Sky" to "Livin' Thing" and "Hold On Tight", there are few duds amongst these 20 remastered tracks. ELO produced some of the biggest and best singles in rock & roll's history, and All Over The World: The Very Best Of ELO is an excellent reintroduction to this great band. Hopefully, this also signals the beginning of a long-overdue revival and re-evaluation. --Robert Burrow
All over the World - The very Best of ELO, 2009-12-23 I purchased All over the world as a Christmas present, I received it promptly and when I was next on my computer I put the disc in to make sure it play alright. It was then and only then I realised not only how many great tracks had been written and recorded by ELO, but the quality of the actual music. While typing I am still not sure whether or not I will part with this disc as a present!

Robbie Williams
Please note that this album comes in two alternative sleeves, which will be randomly assigned.Greatest Hits chronicles the remarkable journey of Mr Robert Williams, from being the "fat dancer from Take That" (c. Noel Gallagher) to the multi-million pound jewel in EMI’s crown. Assembled in chronological order, all the hits are here, except for his initial solo outing "Freedom", and it’s interesting to see how his sound evolves from wannabe Britpop buffoon on the sub-Oasis pubrock of "Old Before I Die" to the subtle captivating melodies of "Feel" and "Come Undone". There are so many great tracks that it’s impossible to list them all, but highlights have to be the barnstorming "Let Me Entertain You", the bouncy, floor-filling "Rock DJ" and the song that madeth the man, "Angels". The two latest additions to his canon--"Radio" and "Misunderstood" clearly have one eye on the past, the other on the future – with the latter an instant classic Robbie ballad from the Bridget Jones 2 soundtrack and the former a foray into the world of electro pop that sounds like a warped Human League track from the 1980s. This has to be Robbie’s forte, his ability to make...
Let Him Entertain You!, 2009-10-17 Robbie, as with all other acts who start out in a 'boy band',has had to really slog his guts out to shed that terrible image and 'label' that goes with pop acts.
It's been a struggle and there have been plenty of tears but he's done it! He's proved that underneath there really IS a great talent and an amazing voice and song-writer. It certainly shows when a singer can hold a crowd of millions spell-bound and reduced to tears when he sings his song 'Angels'. Even if you HATE him i bet you know the words to 'Angels'!
As with most careers there are ups and there are downs, but Robbie always gives his fans what they want.
Robbie is clever in his song-writing as he can go from pop ballad (once again i refer to 'Angels') to raunchy pop (Rock D.J) to really rocking out (Let Me Entertain You).
Well done on this great collection Robbie, lets hope there's a volume 2 in the near future.

Journey
Amazing!!!!!!!!, 2010-01-04 I think that this must be the most amazing greatest hits collection I have ever come across!
' Don't stop believing ' had been one of my most favourite tracks forever but I'd never encountered anything else by Journey that was until I stumbled upon this. There are no dud songs just total entertainment throughout. I first played it driving cross country and for once did't care less about traffic jams- I just wanted to hear the next track!! A must buy for anyone out there. One play and you'll be asking Bon Jovi who?!!!
