The Electric Light Orchestra were one of the biggest and most successful bands of the late 1970s, producing a massive string of hit singles and albums that almost any other band would envy. Their works have been cited as influences by such hip acts as Grandaddy and Super Furry Animals. Their frontman and leader Jeff Lynne has been the producer of choice for people like Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and George Harrison. From "Evil Woman", "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Mr Blue Sky" to "Livin' Thing" and "Hold On Tight", there are few duds amongst these 20 remastered tracks. ELO produced some of the biggest and best singles in rock & roll's history, and All Over The World: The Very Best Of ELO is an excellent reintroduction to this great band. Whilst easily one of the most distinctive female pop vocalists of the last ten years, with her hot-headed persona and torching rock vocals barrelling through empowered songs both infectious and tender, P!nk did step back into line somewhat for more one-size-fits-all last album I’m Not Dead. Her voice aside, there was little pull her apart from her peers or to suggest she’d ever again go on to release anything as definitive as her breakthrough album M!ssundaztood. But whether driven by young pretenders like Katy Perry making a grab for her crown or by that perennial emotional motivator--break-up (she was divorced between albums)--Funhouse utterly redeems P!nk. The cynical may question just how many Beach Boys greatest hits albums are enough. Non-cynics, however, will appreciate what makes The Very Best Of... unique. This is the first single-disc collection to feature such a large cross-selection of hits from the group's entire career, spanning 1962's "Surfin' Safari" through to 1988's "Kokomo". All 30 tracks, spanning several label changes are probably now as identifiable as the national anthem to anyone with radio or TV access. The fact that the tracks aren't in chronological order helps make for a fresh listening experience, as does the crisp digital sound. And yet these songs--even those that are more than four decades old--always sound strangely fresh and will likely remain so as long as there are beaches, young people and that symbolic season of freedom and dreams. great service on a cd that i thought was unavailable a good price well worth the money oringal hits not later recordings that some how spoils the enjoyment. i would recommend this to my friends and family

Best Album since Hopes & Fears, 2010-07-22
Tracks such as Back in Time, Clear Skies, Looking Back and My Shadow are pure Keane great tracks beautiful lyrics and well arranged.

The introduction of a rapper whilst initially a concern, I think it works really well. The tracks are not over powered and the rap is witty sympathetic the to the tracks. I particularly like the "Rocky reference" in Looking Back, evidence of the wit and charm that comes with Keane.

I guess for now my favourite tracks are My Shadow and Back in Time, for me this is an album albeit minus a couple of tracks, but a complete work nonetheless. The only track I do not like is "You've got to help Yourself" and that is purely down the Japanese collaborator......It just doesn't sit well with the rest in my opinion.

I am going to make this short and sweet, this is without question ONE of the greatest albums ever conceived. Heartfelt and extraordinary, EVERYONE should own this album,it is ONE of THE most important albums of the 20th century, it is that simple.

If you like me watched Live Aid all those years ago , this box set will bring all the memories back . Great performances from both sides of the Atlantic with Queen and David Bowie my favourites . If you enjoyed that special day do yourself a favour and buy this , you wont be dissapointed .
