Arista, Records, 26072 2 Jewel Case 24 Track 2000
Average rating of 5/5 Experiments, 2006-01-15
Without experimentation where would we be? It's not ATLiens but it's not supposed to be. They showed they could chill us out and take us to that higher place, now they've shown us they can make us move. I'd say its the perfect balance of social comment, funk, spiritualism and everything else that makes music great. The best track has got to be Humble Mumble (shame Erykah Badu only seems to not be annoying when she's backing someone up, another example being 'Baby You got Me - The Roots'.
All in all a shit hot album...Different...But hot.

Average rating of 5/5 Makes you want to coat yourself in honey (& get someone to lick it off), 2008-01-20
What a fantastic record. Hot Chocolate made some absolutely marvellous records & this collection is testament to that fact.
The songs are smooth as silk. They can be a combination of very funky, sexy & saucy, bitter & sweet. The musicianship is fantastic,as is the production & if Errol's voice was a business, I reckon Ann Summers would be bankrupt.
You do forget with some bands how much quality they produced & Hot Chocolate are probably for many people, one of those bands. I thoroughly enjoy this record, its pure quality (& its a tip top party record too !)
A must own - no, really, it is !!

Artist: Depeche Mode

Singles 1986-1998 is a worthwhile purchase for casual admirers and completists alike. The two-disc set contains revamped versions of the major singles from 1986 to 1998 and a version of "Little 15" that was first released only in France. The set's "grand finale" is the live recording of "Everything Counts", from the 101 album. Although the original studio version of the "Everything Counts" single appeared on 1984's People Are People, DM fudged the chronology to justify including this astounding live recording on the album. The live recording highlights the worshipful crowd applauding, cheering, and chant-singing "The grabbing hands / Grab all they can / Everything counts in large amounts" long after the song has ended.--Beth Bessmer

This compilation of greatest hits by DM really deserves 5*. Throughout the album it continues to amaze and produces fantastic songs! I definitely recommend it to anyone who thinks they may like it, because they will!

Average rating of 5/5 What an amazing DVD, 2007-04-20
Having seen Westlife in concert many times, I was ill when they did this tour. I bought it on DVD to make up for missing it first time round. This DVD is truly amazing and it shows exactly how and why Westlife are so successful. They sing all thier greatest hits beautifully and keep the fans even more entertained when they sing different songs in the middle. The documentary lets us, the fans, into thier lives and this DVD is a must have.

A live album and a greatest-hits album all in one, 101 proves that Depeche Mode are just as capable of performing on stage as they are working in a studio. The listener is easily swept up in the hysteria of the fans screaming in the audience. From the brooding "Never Let Me Down Again" to the sickly sweet "Somebody", the live component of this album makes one realise that there really are humans behind the machines, accompanied by a range of real human emotions. --Beth Bessmer

Average rating of 5/5 Excellent round up of the end of year hits!, 2000-10-20
As expexted Now 44 is as good as is humanly possible with loads of number 1's and lots of other top charting hits and some not so high hits but still excellent songs.

The Christmas release of the Now series is usually the strongest and this is no exception with the biggest seller of the year from Britney Spears and other huge sellers from Eiffel 65 and Lou Bega.

It isn't all pop music though with the likes of Supergrass, ATB, R Kelly and even oldies such as Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Phil Collins pleasing every fan of different types of music.

It is this diversity that makes it such a hit with my favourite songs being Robbie William's She's The One and Ronan Keating's When You Say Nothing At All.

An excellent cd as usual with something to please everybody.

Average rating of 5/5 It got them Back for Good, 2010-03-18
OK, it's a few years since this DVD was released, but it's great to look back at this now and realise where it brought us. For the fans who never went away it was the prayer we constantly hung on to that brought the boys back together and for everyone else it was an opportunity to discover that there was more depth to this 'boy band' that was previously thought.

Perhaps the most revealing part is how Howard felt about the break-up which I think is pretty much how many TT fans felt, too. Reading between the lines, you can see that there was a certain loss of confidence with the band once Robbie left and also a feeling that Gary felt the only way to progress was to go it alone. It's heartbreaking to know how badly he was treated by the industry in the intervening years before they reunited, and how he lost so much confidence in himself as a singer/performer. Fortunately, the fans were waiting for the return whilst Gary busied himself becoming the UK's answer to David Foster, writing and producing some amazing stuff for other performers in the meantime (check out the Donny Osmond album What I Meant To Say for the 'missing' Gary album), writing a very revealing autobiography and finally mending the bridge between him and Robbie.

Thanks to Simon Cowell, who managed to get this documentary to happen, we've since had 2 amazing albums (Beautiful World and The Circus),the breathtaking Circus Concert and the promise of many more surprises in the future.

Worth every penny, not only for the revealing facts of life as a boy band, but as an historical document of a truly exceptional group.

Artist: Tribe Called Quest

People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm is, quite simply, one of the finest albums in hip-hop. It's easy to argue that A Tribe Called Quest reached their zenith on this, their debut album: though they went on to produce another world-class disc (The Low End Theory) and broadened their palates and their consciousness, never again were they quite this naturally free and easy. Q-Tip and Phife's delivery is deceptively simple, flowing like wine and tasting like candy, and Jairobi adds some contrast. The music, so self-assured that it never raises its voice to make a spectacle, follows suit. Four albums later, on their last tour, songs from Paths of Rhythm still were at the top of the set list. --Randy Silver
Average rating of 5/5 one of the best cd's EVER, 2009-08-26
Been a big fan of the Tribe since day one and i cannot fault anything by the Tribe.
This cd along with 3 feet high and rising by da la soul changed hip hop forever.Nothing now is as good as what it was back in the 90s. Long live old Skool hip hop.
