Folk-like and with Middle Eastern musical influences reflecting the geographical and political separateness of Provencal history and culture. Outdoor atmosphere, open textures, wistful but strong harmonies and anything but bland. Join in the hazardous journey of the Nativity family and their visitors, rejoice at their narrow escape as all the locals assist them to hide from Herod's solders.

Three cheers for Patrick Vaillant (mandolin player, vocals and much more) and his band for an essential part of my Christmas listening. I borrowed it from my library for years, and I've now - the library copy having vanished - got my own copy.

Worth it for the singing of Henry's Eight, 2008-02-26
Everything by this choir is worth obtaining in my view. This includes their two Hyperion disks of Gombert, those of Robert Whyte, Lassus, and also De La Rue.

Their Whyte CD is arguably one of their finest (I would say with the 2 Gombert disks). The singing is simply beautiful. Male only voices, impeccable intonation and exceptional ensemble.

Very highly recommended.
