Amazon.co.uk Review And so the mighty Now That's What I Call Music juggernaut rolls on, crushing all competition in its wake (anyone remember its erstwhile competitor "Hits" which petered out after about five volumes?). Now 45 conforms perfectly to the formula that has made this series such a success, packing in hit after hit of disposable poppy tunes. CD One goes for a mixture of out-and-out pop fare, with S Club 7, Britney Spears, Vengaboys and Aqua, and R&B-lite from the likes of the Honeyz, Precious and Fierce. CD Two goes off on more of a dance tip, with chart-topping-tastic "choons" from the likes of Chicane, Moloko, Basement Jaxx and the omnipresent Moby. CD Two then goes a bit weird at the end with Blink 182 and John Lennon--two tracks that the compilers were obviously keen to include but didn't seem to quite know where to put them. Apart from that it's easy-on-the-ear, high-on-the-saccharine from start to finish. If this is what you call music, then you'll love it. --Helen Marquis

Now That's What I Call Music!, 2004-05-24 This is an excellent CD. It seems to be a milestone (#45) of some sort, the front cover design, 45 tracks (the most for a 'now' I think). Well, the CD itself. CD1 starts off very well. Gabrielle's Rise, Mel C and Left Eye's Never Be The Same Again, along with Craig David's genius creation Fill Me In were all in the Top 10 bestsellers of the year so far. All the tracks on this side are brilliant. CD2 then. Some massive dance hits, a few RnB anthems jutted in there (including the great Thong Song by Sisqo). The Fragma and Sisqo tracks keep it fresh for time. (These were top 5 the day it came out.) Also, for the first time, some garage, Artful Dodger and Craig David appear twice! At the end it seems to get a little different, as someone else said these tracks obviously wanted to be included but they didn't know where to put them. And it was a GOOD decision to put John Lennon's classic Imagine on here, because many young people buying the CD probably wouldn't have it already. I usually tire of the spring 'Now' edition, but this one has a good summer vibe to it. Better than 46, 47 without a doubt.
Hmmm...not bad...., 2000-10-28 ...but then, not good either. I own a great many compilation CDs, and I have to say that Now 45 is the weakest in recent times.sure, there are a few good tracks on it, but the bad ones far outweigh the good! It now appears to have become customary to include a "classic" track on each Now CD, which is all well and good, but "Imagine"?! That is not a classic track at all, it merely serves to irritate. Stay away!
Excellent product, 2009-04-30 The CD product I recieved from Amazon was in pristine condition. The service was great as well as the delivery time. Overall excellent service!!!
