A precious talent, 2006-09-10 Einaudi is a unique talent and this is his best CD to date. Joined this time by The David Quartet, Einaudi perfects his clever and powerful melodies which he fills with emotion even in his minimalist pieces.
This music has the unique quality of making the listener yearn for the very next phrase, as the piece progresses
Some of the pieces like Nefeli and Yerevan you will probably recognise from television and advertising.
The tracks are not instant-this is not a disposable pop album. Instead these tracks are exceptionally well composed and beatufully arranged which came from the labour of a perfectionist.
After hearing the strongest track, in my opinion, called Giorni Dispari, I had found something I for which I had been looking for a long time.
Ludovico Einaudi is a special discovery. There are not many like him.
An album full of gentle, meldious insturmentals., 2003-01-25 I bought this album, having been impressed by Einaudi's tracks on a National Trust compilation CD and on Classic FM. I was not disappointed - each track has a beautiful and relaxing quality to it, great for helping to unwind after a hard day, or for simply enjoying on a beautiful day. You will love this if you enjoy gentle, melodious, relaxing instrumental music. In my opinion this album has a style that blends well with the works of the traditional classical composers and also with contempory artists, such as Rolf Lovland's Secret Garden and Karl Jenkins' Adiemus. I enjoy a wide range of music, ranging from rock through to classical, and this album is up among my all time favourites.
Good, but not Einaudi's best, 2002-09-11 While listening to Le Onde, I often wondered how Einaudi's wonderful melodies would be benefitted by adding extra instruments to supplement the solo piano. This, however, is not Le Onde; its melodies, though distinctly those of Ludovico Einaudi, rarely manage to be as simply effective as those of its predecessor. They are certainly good, but not as good as precedents would have led me to believe. Apart from two or three excellent tracks, the rest strike me as being rather bland. Having said that, where it is good, it really shines. Buy it by all means, but Le Onde is much superior and that album should be in your collection first.
Great CD, 2009-04-15 This CD is really good - whether relaxing to it in the house or in the car. Great to listen to anytime, in fact at the moment I have it in my kids bedrooms at bedtime and it helps them fall asleep!
A collection of beautiful, emotive and relaxing music., 2003-09-03 Having heard a couple of Einaudi's pieces, I decided that this album was sure to continue in a haunting, engaging mode. Many of the pieces indeed reflect a rather simple minimalistic style, combining lyrical melodies with graceful accompaniments. After listening to two or three tracks, Einaudi's style shines through, creating a positive sense of slight predictability, as the pieces seem to progress how you want them to. If anyone admires the music of the Michael Nyman, I suggest this album would be of great interest to you as there are many similarities in style.
