Amazon.co.uk Review Pop's rush to raid the cradle continues with this promising, self-titled debut by 25-year-old Canadian singer Michael Bublé. And while the young vocal star's good looks are smart enough for a boy band, his muse seems to have sprung from a more sassy and compelling musical era. Mentored by Paul Anka (whose 1950s hit "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" is covered in dreamy, cabaret fashion here), Bublé sings in the orbits of Darin and Sinatra, covering swing epoch gems ("Come Fly with Me", "The Way You Look Tonight", "That's All") and rock-era standards (Van Morrison's "Moondance", "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" by the Brothers Gibb, Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love") with equal aplomb. David Foster's production is typically slick and played to the back row of the bleachers, but it's informed by smart contexts provided by such arrangers as Johnny Mandel, Randy Waldman and Mike Melvoin. If the choices of material are sometimes staid and predictable, they also give the singer a crucial framework for building toward something more challenging; his is a bright future. --Jerry McCulley

This guy can't do no wrong, 2010-02-09 Put this on and your in for some lovin from your other half!! Great cd.
Buble is music to bridge the gap between young and older audiences!, 2009-05-03 From the man that a popular TV Talent show claimed "would never make it as a singer", comes an incredibly entertaining toe-tapping, catchy cabaret-style, and at times, emotionally evoking timeless album from a man who has a voice that is guaranteed to make any woman (and possibly some men?) melt.
Singing and putting his own spin on songs made popular by the most famous of crooners, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin, this an album that both younger AND older generations can appreciate and enjoy. You will be captivated with smooth and experienced vocals that even modern pop stars and boy bands envy.
A great album to open minds and broaden the musical horizons of younger audiences who think that only modern pop, rock and r&b can have true meaning, heart and soul.
Try this one out on your teenage daughters to try and get them to listen to something with a melody.
For me, this album definately took me back to a time even before I was born, when life was more innocent and music was music.
Michael Buble, 2010-02-04 Recently played this and really enjoyed it. Michael has a wonderful voice and its a great easy to listen to CD. Great for curling up on the sofa of an evening, lovely and relaxing. This is my first CD of his but i intend to buy more!
Excellent cover versions, 2010-04-05 I think it's fair to say that cover versions are often quite disappointing imitations of the original, but there are several tracks on here that I think are as good as, if not better than, the original versions. My particular favourites are The Way You Look Tonight (beautifully smooth orchestration, which goes perfectly with Michael Buble's velvety style - he sounds like melted chocolate singing this!), Moondance (I've seen Van Morrison do this live and I was a bit nervous about hearing Michael Buble's version but was unexpectedly delighted to find that I actually prefer the Buble version and can't resist singing along whenever I listen to it), Sway (a perfect song for his voice, superb) and Fever (this was the track on the album I was most sceptical about but I think his version is an incredible success, and it still amazes me every time I listen to it.) All in all, an excellent album from a man with an outstanding talent. 5 stars!
over rated, 2009-07-06 this is over rated hogwash, everybody who gave it 5 stars are brain dead or do not know good jazz singing, cause this sure as hell is not good jazz singing, i heard him on the radio and thought what a boring copy he was, at best a mimic, but who needs a mimic when there is so much good stuff around by the real people, please grow up and find the real jazz singers not this watered down pap.
