Customer Reviews
Average rating of 4/5 Is it an album or an EP?, 2010-05-27
Got this album about a week ago and originally gave it a 3 star review. However due to its short length been listening to it non-stop for a few days now and must say it's awesome. Always been a fan of Goldfrapp and recently rediscovered Seventh Tree, which is amazing. Upon first listen Head First gives you a mixed number of feelings, but once the songs start to settle in, I just can't help myself, but love the songs. On the negative side though, there are no stand out songs by itself if you try to find a single one you would enjoy. However, as a body of work altogether it works pretty well. Rocket is great, Alive is another nice song with the catchy chorus. The latter 6 songs are pretty, but a bit generic. My favourite track though is the final one Voicething. At the length of 4.50 mins it's a pure Goldfrapp from start to finish, beautiful and etherial track, more vocalising than a proper song, but mesmerising and beautiful, and ,honestly, a a bit of a shame that the rest of the album doesn't quiet sound like this this one.

Average rating of 3/5 Nice 80s revival, extremely simplistic, 2010-06-17
Head first is not a bad record, but it's far from we should expect from Goldfrapp. Very simplistic songs, sounding like an 80s revival, funny, amusing, but empty.

Average rating of 4/5 A great surprize, 2010-07-06
This is my first Goldfrapp album which I bought simply on the strength of the sing Rocket. A great album to listen to from start to finish.
It's a very up beat album and great to have on in the background as you are working during the day.
The standout tracks are Rocket which was the single and Head First the title track. The whole album has a kind of classic rock done with synths sound and feel which I think is very cool.

Average rating of 5/5 It starts in my belly, Then up to my heart..., 2010-06-07
There's not much that I can say about this superb album which hasn't already been said already in the review by G.Thomas on 22nd March 2010.

But to quickly summarise: if you're an established Goldfrapp fan then you might not appreciate this on just one listening but it really does grow with further plays. It's not been created for instant gratification, but for lasting pleasure.

Average rating of 1/5 Seriously Boring, 2010-06-01
Although I've enjoyed their previous stuff I found this very dull, unimaginative, and a waste of money ; fortunately I was able to sell it again on Amazon . pity that!
